"Overview
Becoming a doctor in India often necessitates exceptional merit or substantial financial means. Globally, many students venture to various destinations to pursue their aspirations and professional paths. This migration trend typically flows from the eastern to the western parts of the world, attributed to superior university infrastructure, global exposure, and the availability of specialized fields and career prospects. Particularly within the field of medicine, the motivations for Indian students migrating to other countries differ significantly from those of English-speaking nations and Europe.

In India, securing an MBBS seat in any Government college ranks among the most daunting challenges worldwide. This challenge largely stems from the crucial need for robust infrastructure and the availability of competent faculty members in medical colleges. In an effort to expand MBBS seat availability, the government has initiated numerous reforms in the medical education sector, including relaxed norms for opening new medical colleges and academic criteria for faculty recruitment. However, despite these measures, obtaining an MBBS seat remains the cherished dream of many.

Government reports across various platforms over time have revealed that more than 40% of non-clinical and 65% of clinical subject faculty positions remain vacant in medical colleges established in the last five years. This dire shortage significantly impacts the learning experiences of medical students. With each passing year, the prospects of securing an MBBS seat grow slimmer for aspiring medical candidates. As of 2023, approximately 18,000 Indian students are enrolled in medical universities worldwide, accounting for over one-third of students in private medical colleges in India."
